Job summary

Black Mountain Cabinetry is seeking a cabinetry designer to assist with client needs and grow with the company. The role involves on-site and field work, collaboration with builders and contractors, and using 2020 CAD software to design custom cabinetry within budget and timelines.

The ideal candidate has a design-related degree or experience, strong communication, and a customer-service mindset. Background checks and work authorization are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Visit job sites to obtain measurements and develop cabinetry designs with clients/architects.
• Present designs to customers and tailor to client needs.
• Coordinate delivery and installation with project managers and installers.
• Communicate installation plans to installers and ensure designs are followed.
• Take a project from start to finish with clear communication and timelines.

About the Role

We are a local custom and semi-custom cabinet dealer for residential interiors working primarily with builders and contractors, seeking a designer who will assist with managing the needs of our growing customer base as well as taking on new clients.

An ideal candidate should:

• Have a degree/certificate and/or commensurate experience in design or a related field (architecture, etc.).
• Be able to work both independently and on a team towards shared goals.
• Have a customer service-first attitude. Our service is what sets us apart!
• Be willing to grow with the company and bring on a go-getter attitude. We are growing fast and want someone who can keep up and help the momentum continue!
• Be proficient with 2020 (required) and CAD (preferred but not necessary).
• Have experience designing custom cabinetry, sizing custom panels/built in appliances, and reading/interpreting appliance specifications as they relate to cabinet design.
• Have the ability to conceptualize and suggest cabinetry finishes, materials, and styles while working within budgetary, timeline, or other limitations.
• Have a high degree of organization, communication and time management as it relates to competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Have strong written communication and interpersonal communication skills.
• Have familiarity with construction and working with contractors and other trades.
• Have a legal driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
• Be willing to undergo a background check
• Provide proof of work authorization
  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Applicants will be required to perform many tasks. Including, but not limited to:

• Visit job sites, obtain accurate measurements, and work directly with the client, architect, interior designer, or builder to develop cabinetry designs.
• Present cabinetry designs to customers, accept feedback, and tailor the design to the client’s needs.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, builders, etc. to coordinate cabinet delivery and installation.
• Communicate installation plan with installers to ensure designs are followed.
• Take a project from start to finish while being precise, communicative, responsive, and ensuring the final product is delivered according to our standards.
