M-F 9am-5pm standard and some late nights for networking events

About the Role

Black Mountain Cabinetry is a locally owned custom and semi-custom cabinetry company serving residential builders, contractors, designers, and homeowners throughout Middle Tennessee. We are looking for an energetic, relationship-driven Business Development Representative to help fuel our continued growth.

This is not a high-pressure sales position. Our ideal candidate genuinely enjoys meeting people, building trust, and creating long-term relationships. You'll spend your time connecting with builders, contractors, designers, remodelers, architects, and homeowners, identifying opportunities, nurturing prospects throughout our sales process, and creating a steady pipeline of qualified projects for our design team.

Our sales cycle often spans weeks or months, so success comes from consistent follow-up, excellent communication, and becoming a trusted resource—not simply making a sale.

If you're self-motivated, enjoy networking, and want to grow with a fast-growing company, we'd love to meet you.

An ideal candidate will:

Have previous experience in business development, outside sales, account management, or relationship-based sales.

Have experience prospecting for new business and generating qualified leads.

Be comfortable making outbound calls to warm leads as well as self-sourced prospects.

Enjoy networking and building authentic, long-term professional relationships.

Be confident visiting builders, contractors, designers, and job sites in person.

Have excellent communication and active listening skills.

Be highly organized and capable of managing a large pipeline of opportunities through multiple stages.

Be self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a go-getter attitude.

Have a customer-first mindset. Our service is what sets us apart.

Be comfortable using CRM software to document conversations, schedule follow-ups, and manage opportunities.

Have familiarity with residential construction, remodeling, cabinetry, or the building industry (preferred but not required).

Be comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with our design and operations teams.

Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

Have excellent time management and follow-through.

Hold a valid driver's license and maintain a reliable vehicle.

Be willing to undergo a background check.

Provide proof of work authorization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Lead Generation & Prospecting

Generate new business opportunities through research, referrals, networking, and outreach.

Call and follow up with warm inbound leads.

Prospect new builders, contractors, remodelers, designers, architects, and other strategic partners.

Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.

Develop and maintain a professional social media presence to represent the company and generate leads

Identify opportunities to grow existing customer accounts.

Relationship Building

Visit builders, contractors, designers, and prospects in person to establish genuine relationships.

Schedule regular visits to job sites, offices, and networking opportunities.

Attend industry events, trade shows, chamber events, builder association meetings, and other networking functions.

Become a trusted resource within the local building community.

Re-engage inactive clients and past customers.

Develop referral relationships with industry professionals.

Lead Nurturing

Follow up consistently with prospects until projects are ready for estimating.

Analyze client drawings and prepare a sales presentation with rough pricing for the client.

Coordinate handoffs to the design team once projects are qualified and design deposit is received.

Continue nurturing relationships throughout the sales cycle with check-ins to ensure the client is taken care of by the team.

Maintain communication after the project is completed to encourage repeat business and referrals.

Work closely with designers and management to ensure prospects receive timely estimates.

Provide feedback from the field regarding market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity.

Assist with company events, open houses, and marketing initiatives as needed.

About the Company

This position offers a performance-based compensation structure designed to reward both activity and results.

  • Competitive base salary
