Job summary

Kent Moore Cabinets is seeking a design engineer to create and implement current cabinet logic and construction practices within new software platforms. The role involves researching and developing systems for custom cabinets and improving construction efficiency across existing designs.

You will maintain parametric designs in CAD/CAM software, assess alternative assembly sequences, and collaborate with design and production teams to transfer critical information for manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
• Practical drafting skills with ability to read blueprints and develop parametric cabinet designs.
• Experience with CAD/CAM tools for cabinet manufacturing is desired.
• Good math skills and basic computer proficiency are essential.
• Ability to communicate with Sales, Office and Drafting teams; residential construction knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement cabinet logic and construction practices in new software platforms.
• Research and develop systems for manufacture of custom cabinets.
• Improve performance and efficiency of cabinet designs; update design processes in new software packages.
• Document current assembly practices and requirements for cabinets and other in-house assemblies.
• Develop parametric designs for cabinets and large assemblies in CAD/CAM software; assess alternative joinery methods.
