Job summary

Airbus Americas Customer Services, Inc. in Mobile, AL is seeking a Cabin Engineer to manage aircraft cabin retrofit projects, from global architecture to detailed drawings, coordinating with international teams and customer MROs. You will support on‑site modification embodiment and certification planning.

The role emphasizes designing, documenting, and delivering retrofit solutions with CAD proficiency, strong communication, and project management skills in a fast‑paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering with 0-3 years of engineering experience.
• Design and CAD proficiency using CATIA V5 or similar tools.
• Direct exposure to project or program engineering methodologies.
• Authorized to work in the US.
• Ability to build and maintain an internal network with colleagues globally.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and organization skills.
• Regulatory familiarity with FAA/EASA in aircraft modification and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Architecture & Design: develop cabin retrofit solutions from global architecture to detailed technical design.
• Engineering Documentation: create robust retrofit drawings with focus on lead time, quality, and cost.
• Kit Definition: specify complete kit requirements for retrofit design.
• Project Management & Stakeholder Liaison: manage modifications per project plan; 25% project execution.
• Program Enablers: develop and manage program enablers with timely, high‑quality delivery.
• Interface Management: coordinate with internal teams and international Airbus departments.
• Certification & Compliance: develop certification plan and support regulatory processes.
• On‑Site Support: provide direct technical support to on‑site modification teams.
• Technical Publications: interpret SBs, IPCs, BOMs to support design and kit definition.
