Job Responsibilities

Rich in Native American history, Edisto Beach on Edisto Island is one of four oceanfront state parks in South Carolina.

Edisto Beach State Park features trails for hiking and biking that provide a wonderful tour of the park. The park’s environmental education center is a “green” building with exhibits that highlight the natural history of Edisto Island and the surrounding ACE Basin.

Job Purpose And Duties

Assists the Park Manager with the overall maintenance of Edisto Beach State Park, including the upkeep of grounds and facilities, as well as the scheduling and supervision of assigned staff.

• Supervises assigned maintenance staff, A-2 staff, and other personnel.
• Directs and performs clean-up and housekeeping activities to assure the attractiveness, cleanliness, and safety of park grounds and facilities.
• Performs housekeeping activities on facilities and grounds.
• Maintains inventory of linens required for cabin operation.
• Assists with the operation of the park by completing related forms and reports, ordering and stocking bulk items used for repair and clean-up.
• Practice and promote teamwork within the State Park Service, throughout the agency and with external agency stakeholders. Represents office as an active member on agency teams assigned throughout the year.
• Assists in the training of all maintenance or assigned personnel.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years' experience in building and grounds maintenance.

Additional Comments

Actual Job Location: Edisto Beach State Park.

Full-time, 40 hours per week rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.
