Compensation:
  • $85.00 to $95.00 per hour
Role Overview:
The M&D Analyst is responsible for monitoring and diagnosing equipment and thermal performance issues for a fleet of plants using Advanced Pattern Recognition (APR) and thermal modeling software. They are also responsible for providing advanced condition monitoring and data analyses of critical plant systems and components. They interface with plant personnel on a regular basis and collaborate with internal subject matter experts to diagnose developing plant and equipment related problems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and use advanced pattern recognition software models and plant operational data to detect changes in the operating behavior of plant equipment and systems
  • Perform daily monitoring of site critical components that have installed models actively collecting data using advanced analytics software
  • Respond, evaluate, and prioritize alarms for potential equipment related issues and interact with station personnel and provide recommendations to optimize plant equipment and systems
  • Support and interface with internal and external corporate component Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to assess equipment anomalies.
  • Communicate equipment anomalies to plant operations and engineering personnel and plant technical analysts [Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) analysts].
  • Identify and classify associated risks to the plant, provide recommendations to mitigate risks, and follow up to ensure resolutions are tracked through to completion.
  • Monitor equipment performance and predict component health, alerting corporate SME’s and station personnel of anomalies within those trends which could adversely affect the reliability, availability, maintainability and performance of equipment.
  • Master all aspects of the monitoring and diagnostic (M&D) center software tools including, but not limited to, APR and thermal performance.
  • Update, retrain, and evaluate the adequacy of existing APR and thermal performance software models.
  • Capture and quantify avoided costs to express the value of team activities.
  • Maintains compliance with all corporate training requirements including cyber security, safety, human resources, etc.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent combination of experience and/or education
  • Four or more years of experience as a Plant Engineer, Lead Operator, Maintenance Technician, or CBM Specialist
  • Experience and knowledge in all aspects of power plant systems and operations
  • Experience with power plant controls, control logic, and vibration analysis of rotating equipment
  • Strong working knowledge of rotating plant components such as pumps, motors, heater, turbines, transformers, and generators and field instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with Condition Based Maintenance programs and technology applications
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience and familiarity with web presentation and video conferencing solutions
  • Adept at identifying customer needs and challenges

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Willingness to travel, international and domestic, as required, up to twenty percent
  • Familiarity with OSI AVEVA PI data historian a plus
  • Experience with developing, implementing and operating performance monitoring program is highly desired. Working knowledge of ASME Performance Test Codes.
  • Experience building, training, and monitoring APR models

  • Travel to customer facilities may require additional criminal background checks.

  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to use hands to type, handle products, tools and navigate a computer keyboard.
