Job description

Elevate Your Career in Private Aviation – Cabin Attendant: Global 8000 (Van Nuys, CA)

Clay Lacy Aviation is seeking an experienced, polished, and highly organized Cabin Attendant to join our team based in Van Nuys, CA (KVNY). This is a full‑time position operating on a Global 8000 under Part91, with approximately 400 flight hours and 100 days of travel annually.

If you have a minimum of five years of experience in large‑cabin private or corporate aviation and take pride in delivering a truly legendary service experience, we want to hear from you.

This role is about more than just service—it's about anticipating needs, mastering preferences, and creating a seamless, luxurious environment for discerning clientele. You'll be the face of Clay Lacy in the cabin, ensuring every detail is attended to with precision, discretion, and warmth.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Cabin Attendant, you'll take full ownership of the cabin experience, managing everything from pre‑flight preparation to post‑flight follow‑up. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring strict compliance with all safety regulations and protocols while delivering exceptional, personalized service to passengers.
  • Learning and maintaining detailed knowledge of the owner's food preferences, dietary needs, allergies, and other personalized requests.
  • Regularly updating passenger profiles and maintaining accurate aircraft inventory records.
  • Organizing and maintaining owner lockers, cages, and office spaces, ensuring all bedding, cabin supplies, and equipment are accounted for and well‑maintained.
  • Conducting routine inventory checks to ensure quality, consistency, and readiness of all cabin supplies.
  • Preparing the aircraft with necessary amenities, catering, and special requests—ensuring the cabin is spotless and all items are current and in place before each flight.
  • Sourcing, shopping for, and stocking the aircraft with the owner's preferred items, rotating supplies and replacing items as needed.
  • Proactively identifying and addressing any issues related to cabin wear and tear, coordinating with the Pilot in Command (PIC) or appropriate department.
  • Safely offloading and on‑loading aircraft items during regular maintenance events or as required.
  • Setting up the aircraft for showings to potential charter clients, ensuring it meets the highest standards.
  • Maintaining a flexible schedule to accommodate the owner's schedule, adapting to changes in flight schedules as necessary.
  • Maintaining continuous communication with In‑Flight Services management to ensure smooth operations and support.
  • Performing other duties as assigned or requested.
What You Bring to the Role

We're looking for someone who not only has the technical experience but also embodies the professionalism and poise that Clay Lacy is known for.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience operating under Part91 and/or Part135 in a large‑cabin private or corporate jet environment.
  • Must reside within a 2‑hour drivable commute to the aircraft's home base at KVNY—this is not a commutable or fly‑in/fly‑out position.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license.
  • Active Food Handler Certification.
  • Valid, unexpired passport.
  • Current Emergency Training certification from an approved training provider (completed within the past 12 months), including CPR and First Aid.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre‑employment background check and drug screening.
  • Flexibility to work variable schedules, including weekends, holidays, and on‑call assignments (unless on a scheduled day off).
  • Completion of Clay Lacy Aviation indoctrination training upon hire.
Travel Expectations

Travel will occur with prolonged overnight stays in both domestic and international locations.

Competencies and Skills We Value
  • Strong customer relations skills with a customer‑centric mindset.
  • Enthusiasm for taking on new opportunities and challenges.
  • Collaborative team player who works well with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Clear and effective communication, tailored to varied audiences.
  • Integrity, honesty, and authenticity that build trust and confidence.
  • Sound decision‑making that keeps the organization moving forward.
  • Accountability to commitments—for yourself and others.
  • Results‑driven approach with a consistent focus on achieving objectives.
  • Self‑awareness gained through feedback and reflection on strengths and weaknesses.
Essential Job Functions
  • Ability to comply with all safety requirements to perform the job safely.
  • Regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other standards.
  • Excellent customer service for both internal and external clients.
  • Completion of Clay Lacy Aviation and other job‑related training.
  • Ability to make decisions with multiple objectives and implement them safely and efficiently.
  • Follow oral and written directions; plan and complete assigned duties on schedule.
  • Maintain good working relationships with others.
  • Flexibility to work day, night, and in all weather conditions.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to reason, analyze, and solve problems.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a distracting environment.
