Job summary

Carrier Johnson + Culture (CJ+C) seeks a Project Architect in Los Angeles to lead design development across all project phases. You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, maintain QA/QC, and ensure adherence to codes and client requirements.

A CA-licensed professional with 5+ years of experience will mentor junior staff and collaborate with project managers to deliver high-quality projects. You will engage with clients and design leaders, manage schedules and budgets, and oversee construction

Qualifications

• Licensed Architect required, CA license preferred.
• 5+ years of professional experience on mixed-use or complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, plan checks, and permitting.
• Proficient in Revit and BIM coordination.
• Ability to lead teams and mentor junior architects.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural development across all project phases from concept to construction.
• Develop buildable solutions aligned with goals, budgets, and schedules.
• Coordinate internal teams and external consultants for integration of systems.
• Guide plan checks, permitting, zoning, and regulatory approvals.
• Oversee construction administration and site visits.
• Collaborate with PMs and Design Leaders on budgeting and delivery.
• Maintain QA/QC standards and compliance with firm standards.
• Build strong client relationships and foster repeat business.
• Mentor Job Captains and junior staff to support CA processes.
