Job summary

CORE is seeking an experienced Employee Services Manager to lead HR operations across our California offices from the Roseville location. This in-person role partners with local leadership and national resources on employee administration, payroll coordination, benefits support, and leave management.

The ideal candidate has California employment experience in the construction sector, familiarity with union payroll practices, and a background in Workday.

Qualifications

• At least five years of HR or employee services experience, including California requirements.
• Strong communication, organization, and discretion; protect confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting and onboarding coordination, including offer letters.
• Coordinate background checks, drug screening, equipment access, travel, and 30/60/90-day check-ins.
• Organize career fairs and recruiting events.
• Handle departures, exit interviews, and payroll/benefits notifications.
• Coordinate timecard submission and union wage entry with payroll.
• Maintain confidential records in Workday and ensure accuracy.
• Address benefits questions and connect employees with national resources.
• Manage CA leave and accommodations with compliance oversight.
• Ensure CA employment compliance and training.
• Coordinate performance review schedules and documentation.
• Collaborate with CORE West Employee Services Managers on coverage and improvements.
• Attend national Employee Services meetings; travel to Frisco, TX (2–4 times/year).
