Job summary

River Country in Lake Elmo, MN is seeking a General C-store Manager to lead day-to-day operations of the store, including register, merchandising, inventory, pricing, and maintenance. You will oversee staff, scheduling, training, and compliance with company policies to deliver strong results.

You will manage all aspects of store profitability, customer service, safety, and vendor relations, ensuring a positive shopping experience and efficient operation for our community.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, with sufficient on-the-job experience to manage a convenience/store retail operation.
• Minimum 10 years of retail or store experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
• Proficient in computer usage, including POS systems and the Internet.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day store operations, including register, merchandising, layout, cooking, inventory, bookkeeping, and maintenance.
• Ensure a pleasant shopping experience for all customers.
• Review, assign and follow up on daily work lists.
• Supervise sale of all retail goods and services, including money drop procedures.
• Oversee food service areas by food standards.
• Oversee pricing accuracy and updates on all retail items.
• Plan and prepare work schedules; coordinate staff assignments and activities.
• Recruit, train, coach, manage and supervise store clerks and Assistant Managers.
• Perform opening and closing processes.
• Monitor competitor prices and report to corporate.
• Oversee receiving, verification, and processing of merchandise and vendor shipments.
• Oversee ordering, stock, and display merchandise and supplies.
• Generate reports as needed.
• Oversee cash register operations, drawer closings, and lottery processes.
• Responsible for store profits and controllable expenses (labor, inventory, shrinkage, cash).
• Conduct store meetings regularly with staff.
• Enforce safety, security, merchandising, vendor policies, and company procedures.
• Resolve customer complaints timely.
• Manage reports of injury or incidents per policy.
• Perform functions of assistant manager or C-store clerk as needed.
