Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Mid Level Software Developer to support Naval projects in Dahlgren, VA. On-site role requiring a SECRET clearance, a BS in CS/engineering or equivalent, and 3+ years of C++ experience along with Python and Java. Responsibilities span Agile development, cross-team collaboration, Windows and Linux environments, and VSCode development.

The team focuses on modernizing DoW weapons and sensor systems, with a broad benefits package and travel between local worksites as needed.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Aerospace engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Active SECRET US Government Clearance; US citizenship required.
• 3+ years of C++ experience.
• Experience with Python and Java.
• Must have valid Real ID driver’s license and access to transportation; some travel between local worksites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide software/engineering solutions and system development using Agile development principles.
• Perform analysis and problem-solving for professional scientific/engineering work.
• Work independently and with teams across organizations to meet goals on schedule.
• Operating Systems: Windows and Red Hat Linux.
• Developing in the VSCode environment.
