Job summary

Calista Corporation seeks an experienced Aviation Machinist – C-130 Specialist to support the C-130 maintenance program at Hurlburt Field, FL. The role involves fabrication, modification, and repair of aircraft parts and tooling using both manual and CNC equipment to maintain structural integrity and readiness of the AC/MC-130J fleet.

Qualified candidates have 10+ years as an aviation machinist, strong reading of engineering drawings/SRM, and training through an apprenticeship or military

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as aviation or aerospace machinist.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and SRMs.
• Proficient with manual and CNC machining equipment.
• Knowledge of aviation-grade materials and heat treatment processes.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance as required by contract.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools to fabricate and repair aircraft parts.
• Manufacture replacement parts, bushings, sleeves and specialized tooling from drawings/blueprints.
• Read and interpret complex manuals, drawings, SRMs and CAD files for repairs on C-130 components.
• Select aviation-grade materials and ensure proper heat treatment and stress relief.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments to ensure tolerances.
