Job summary

Framatome in Richland, WA is seeking a BWR Fuel Mechanical Engineering Department Manager to lead design, manufacturing support, and analysis within the Fuel Business Unit. You will report to the VP of US Fuel Design and guide a team to deliver value-added nuclear fuel solutions.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Engineering, has 10+ years of related experience, and demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage resources and meet customer standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or Physics/Engineering Tech depending on position).
Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
Advanced knowledge of engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
Excellent communication and ability to work with staff, management and customers.
Ability to lead and manage multiple tasks and projects.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with specialized software tools and programming languages.

Responsibilities

Plan and direct timely execution of fuel product design, manufacturing support and verification testing.
Develop department budget and manage cost centers.
Arbitrate resource allocation issues and ensure policy compliance.
Maintain training and workforce development for the department.
Develop and administer engineering standards and procedures.
Set goals and performance standards for team members.
Develop new or adapted products and methods to add value for customers.
Research best practices for continuous department improvement.
