Job summary

Matternet is seeking an experienced Regulatory and Certification Engineer to lead airworthiness and regulatory compliance as we expand BVLOS operations across the US and internationally. You will translate regulatory requirements into documentation and submissions, and serve as a primary liaison with the FAA and other regulators.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years in aviation certification and regulatory work.
• Strong written and verbal regulatory documentation; FAA interactions.
• Deep knowledge of Part 21 and means-of-compliance processes.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive technical substantiation for new design approvals.
• Maintain compliance matrices and certification plans.
• Review designs for certification impact; distinguish major/minor changes.
• Interface with FAA representatives on basis discussions and issue papers.
• Collaborate with flight test, systems engineering, and manufacturing to preserve design intent.
• Prepare regulatory filings for BVLOS waivers, Part 135 additions, new locations.
• Track regulatory developments and assess impact on aircraft and roadmap.
• Update controlled regulatory documentation in line with change control.
