Job summary

Curtiss-Wright’s Exlar division in Chanhassen, MN is seeking a Senior Buyer to drive complex procurement activities for high-value materials and services. You will negotiate terms, manage supplier performance, and support program schedules while ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate records.

Applicants should have 4–6 years in strategic procurement within a manufacturing setting, strong ERP proficiency, and documented cost-savings results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of strategic procurement processes, contract negotiations, supplier management.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated negotiation experience with measurable cost savings or value creation.
  • Experience supporting complex programs or engineered products.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end procurement activities for complex, high-value materials, components and services.
  • Negotiate and administer complex purchase orders and agreements.
  • Issue and administer purchase orders, purchase change orders and RFQs to suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Federal, state, and local regulations concerning purchases.
  • Drive supplier selection and conduct supplier site visits, rating capability, performance and delivery.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including performance monitoring and corrective action.
  • Proactively address issues and escalate as needed.
  • Resolve complex invoice discrepancies and supplier disputes.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, planning, and engineering to align with programs.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement.

Senior Buyer

We are looking for a Senior Buyer to join our Exlar team! As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for executing complex or technical procurement activities, including high-value purchases. This role negotiates pricing and contract terms, drives sourcing efforts and supplier performance to meet cost, quality and delivery objectives. Location: Chanhassen, MN Salary: $67,400 - $89,900 Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in MN. Criteria such as the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience, the scope of the specific position, as well as market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.

Your Challenge

  • Maintain accurate and complete procurement records.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including manufacturing, planning, and engineering departments to ensure alignment with program schedules and requirements.
  • Drives cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of strategic procurement processes, contract negotiations, supplier management.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with ERP systems.
