Job description

Buyer (Remote) (Finance)



This role is responsible for purchasing all materials used in the kitting operation, ensuring material availability to meet forecasted requirements while maintaining targeted inventory levels. The role involves managing daily communication with suppliers and supporting supplier ramp-up plans to ensure material availability for critical NPI launches.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Manage all aspects of purchase order management, including PO placement, supplier confirmations, expediting, and escalation of supply issues.
  • Communicate daily with suppliers via calls, develop shipment plans, and monitor delivery dates to ensure adherence to schedules.
  • Place internal orders and coordinate timely shipment and receipt at international distribution centers.
  • Create purchase requisitions for non-inventory items as needed.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice issues.
  • Support quality and distribution teams in the disposition of non-conforming materials.
  • Work daily with cross-functional teams such as receiving, logistics, inspection, and distribution.
  • Monitor MRP output and take necessary actions.
  • Update purchasing parameters in SAP as required.
  • Maintain runout sheets as needed.
  • Support ad-hoc requests as they arise.

Education and Experience:

  • BS Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of purchasing experience in manufacturing or distribution preferred.
  • Experience with purchasing in an FDA-regulated medical company is preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, especially SAP, preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of supply chain management, including inventory control, MRP, and demand planning.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and escalate concerns promptly.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships internally and externally.
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Effective time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.

Additional Information: The US base salary range for this full-time position is $62,625.00 - $93,937.50, determined by role, level, and location. Salary details are discussed during the hiring process and do not include bonuses, equity, or benefits.
