Position: Buyer Purchasing

Location: Hybrid. Dearborn, MI.

Contract Role

Rate: $37/hr.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Supply Chain, Business, Engineering).
• 0-5 years of experience in Supply Chain / Purchasing.
• Positive, Can Do attitude when faced with demanding customer expectations.
• Team approach with fellow Buyers and MP&L/Plant Materials/OEM-CSD team counterparts.
• Able to maintain focus and operate under pressure in fast-paced environments.
• Able to develop and leverage cross-functional networks.
• Ability to develop and communicate strategic and analytical viewpoints to purchasing leadership, carrier base, and internal customers.
• Ability to find leverage with a market-driven commodity to help achieve optimal cost and service.
• Highly organized, analytical, and a strategic thinker to support the required pace.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Strong Excel skillset.

Responsibilities:

• Manage inbound truckload services for parts shipments to our assembly plants.
• Manage competitiveness and network optimization through Blue Yonder procurement.
• Develop purchasing POV on sourcing actions to improve transportation network for inbound parts.
• Use negotiation and sourcing tools such as GDIA to develop sourcing recommendations, leverage, and drive waste reduction in the network.
• Identify and develop new truckload carriers.
• Leverage data analytics to support sourcing decisions.
• Understand industry and data analytical trends.
• Lead strategic initiatives such as Business Unit Reviews and Commodity Strategy updates.
• Manage supplier relationships.
• Champion minority development and opportunities.
• Support the transition to Blue Yonder and accelerate system adoption, integrating network design with carrier contracts.
• Work cross-functionally with OEM's Lead Logistics Provider and North American Logistics team.
• Understand network design and help source to maximize efficiency.
• Identify synergies between OEM-CSD and NAML networks.

Additional Information:

• In-office in Dearborn on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
• Remote work on Monday and Friday.
