Job summary

Schylling is seeking a proactive Buyer/Planner- International Supply Chain to support procurement for contract manufacturers and oversee international order execution. This hybrid role requires collaboration with Customer Service and Product Development while ensuring compliance and timely shipments.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in buying/planning for consumer goods, experience with international sourcing, and strong ERP skills (NetSuite/SAP/Oracle). On-site work 3 days per week is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in buying, planning, or supply chain coordination in consumer goods/toys.
• Hands-on knowledge of purchasing, importing, and product development.
• Experience with international sourcing, logistics, and export documentation preferred.
• Knowledge of packaging/labeling for international distribution a plus.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance, safety testing, and product inspections preferred.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and MS Office.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and organizational skills.
• Strong project management and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• BA or BS degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• On-site work requirement: 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Purchasing to maintain lead times for international orders while safeguarding domestic supply.
• Identify and address supply chain issues like shortages or delays.
• Maintain ERP records: supplier data, lead times, PO tracking, and payments.

About the job:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer/Planner to join our Supply Chain team. This hybrid role is responsible for managing procurement with contract manufacturers, coordinating seamless international order execution, and maintaining alignment with domestic fulfillment priorities. The ideal candidate thrives in cross-functional coordination and brings a strong grasp of procurement, planning, and production processes.

Responsibilities

• Create, communicate, and place purchase orders with contract manufacturers for the processing of finished goods for international customers and distribution centers.
• Coordinate with internal teams (Customer Service, Product Development, and others) to provide suppliers with complete and accurate order details, including packaging, labelling, and handling requirements.
• Ensure suppliers are producing all items in full compliance with customer specifications.
• Partner with the Quality Manager to ensure any required safety testing, inspections, and compliance audits are conducted and managed through to completion for international shipments.
• Handle and maintain all documentation with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate shipments are aligned with production and delivery schedules.
• Collaborate with the Purchasing team to ensure sufficient production lead times are in place to fulfill international orders while safeguarding domestic supply.
• Identify and address supply chain issues such as material shortages, production delays, or capacity constraints.
• Maintain accurate records within the ERP system, including supplier information, lead times, purchase order tracking, and payment status.
• Support process improvement initiatives across purchasing, planning, and fulfillment operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in buying, planning, or supply chain coordination in consumer goods, toys, or seasonal product industries.
• Hands-on knowledge of purchasing, importing, and product development
• Experience with international sourcing, logistics, and export documentation preferred
• Knowledge of packaging and labeling requirements for international distribution is a plus
• Understanding of regulatory compliance, safety testing, and product inspections preferred
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, MS Office)
• Excellent cross-functional communication and organizational skills
• Highly organized and effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines
• Strong project management skills with an understanding of product lifecycles and development timelines
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Motivated self-starter with a proactive mindset and a passion for following through
• BA or BS degree or equivalent experience in a technical degree.
