We are hiring a Buyer/Planner to join the Procurement Team.

Position Summary

The Buyer/Planner handles the sourcing and procurement of raw materials, components, and services necessary to meet production demands and customer requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, including forecasting, to ensure timely material procurement while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Monitor and manage inventory levels for the East Hazel Crest location, ensuring minimum stock levels are maintained.
2. Review and analyze purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders.
3. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
4. Ensure timely delivery of items and follow up with vendors on late orders.
5. Report on purchasing activities and product usage.
6. Update PO confirmations upon receipt from suppliers.
7. Review wire rope activities and ensure inventory accuracy.
8. Prepare bi-weekly reports for the sales team.
9. Understand and update surcharge information promptly.
10. Forecast and plan for stock products.
11. Collaborate closely with the Operations team on inventory, shipments, and lot management.
12. Lead cycle counts and/or annual physical inventories.

Education & Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or related field; experience in rigging shops or similar industries preferred.
2. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in purchasing and planning.
3. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
4. Strong knowledge of purchasing principles and procedures.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
6. Strong organizational and time management skills.
7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk on the shop floor for extended periods.
