US Farathane is seeking an experienced Buyer/Inventory Analyst at our Riverside, MO facility.
US Farathane has been a leading source of plastics manufacturing, supplying the automotive industry for over 40 years. Through highly technical research and development, coupled with a diverse and knowledgeable Management Team and dedicated Associates, US Farathane has continued to grow each year. We provide customers with a wide range of full-service support from black box design concepts to highly engineered composites, TPE’s and TPO’s as well as specialized extrusion and compression technologies.
Summary: This position is responsible for ordering materials to support production needs while meeting assigned plant inventory levels. This position will also be responsible to participate in cycle count activities.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Review Suggested MRP and order material to support needs of plant production schedules.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels as assigned to meet company objectives.
- Responsible for scheduled cycle counting of raw material, components and finished goods.
- Responsible for inputting receipts for all purchased items, as a backup to the Customer Service Representative.
- Track materials for engineering changes and balance outs to ensure minimal obsolescence.
- Complete freight studies to determine proper order schedules to reduce overall freight costs.
- Monitor and approve inbound freight charges.
- Assist in plant organization by setting up proper storage locations for all purchased components.
- Assist as required in plant activities to achieve quality, productivity, and cost reduction goals.
- Participate in APQP process for new launch activities.
- EDI and/or email release orders to vendors on a weekly basis.
- Purchase MRO items as requested by Materials Manager.
- Support plant annual physical inventory activity.
- Investigate and adjust negative inventory of purchased parts daily as well as inventory variances.
- Monitor delivery performance for all vendors.
- Initiate material follow-up for any vendors behind schedule.
- Cross train within department to support scheduling activities as needed including back up for Customer Service Representative.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in respective areas.
- Perform all duties as requested by the Materials Manager.
Qualifications:- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
