Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. in New York invites applications for the Assistant Buyer Intern position as part of the Winternship program.

You will shadow our expert buying teams, gaining first-hand experience of what it takes to be a buyer while working both in-office and in market settings. You will attend market appointments, learn merchandising systems, and gain exposure to Open-to-Buy monitoring and stock analysis.

Responsibilities

• Observe the administrative and operational functions supporting a designated Buyer.
• Analyze and interpret key business issues as directed by supervisor including the monitoring of regional merchandise reports, Open-to-Buy monitoring, and stock analysis.
• Attend market appointments and competitive shopping trips.
• Learn our merchandising systems and gain understanding of warehouse processes.
• Demonstrate product knowledge through sharing information with buyer as a result of competitive shopping, shopping Ross Stores, and the market.
