Nucor Rebar Fabrication Southeast in Lexington, NC is seeking a Buyer to purchase materials and services for the division, ensuring cost-effective procurement and robust supplier relationships.

The role emphasizes safety, data analysis, and collaboration with operating departments; requires 3+ years of purchasing or related experience and strong Excel skills. Nucor provides a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities within North America\'s leading steel producer.

Qualifications

• 3 years Purchasing, Accounting or Supply Chain experience in a manufacturing environment or a Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field.
• Demonstrated experience analyzing data, generating reports, and making data-driven decisions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic data analysis).

Responsibilities

• Process requisitions/purchase orders
• Negotiate and enforce Nucor’s commercial and legal contract terms and conditions
• Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors/contractors
• Contribute to Nucor enterprise-wide and NRF regional purchasing efforts
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction
• Coordinate with operating departments on cost savings and improved processes
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Basic Job Functions:

Preferred Qualifications:

• Construction or manufacturing industry experience.
• Demonstrated experience with ERP/MRP Systems (Navision, Oracle, SAP, etc.)
• Experience in the following disciplines: business law, contract management, internal controls, inventory management, negotiations, procurement, risk management, accounting, or warehouse.
