Job summary

CesiumAstro in Denver, CO is seeking a Buyer I to support procurement for manufacturing of satellite communications equipment. You will process requisitions, issue POs, monitor supplier performance, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet production schedules and cost targets.

The role requires a Bachelor's in supply chain or related field (or equivalent), familiarity with ERP systems, and strong negotiation and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience with procurement, preferably electronics components.
• Familiarity with major electronics manufacturers and distributors.
• Understanding of engineering design process; experience with PLM tools.
• Experience using an ERP system (MS Dynamics, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of procurement concepts, practices, and procedures, including purchasing, negotiation, contracts, and cost breakdown.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Strong analytical skills with data-backed conclusions.
• Time management and ability to prioritize under pressure.
• Strong Excel skills and data presentation for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services per procedures.
• Review requirements, supplier quotations, delivery schedules, and inventory to support manufacturing objectives.
• Monitor open POs, supplier deliveries, and order status; coordinate issue resolution.
• Communicate with suppliers on POs, delivery schedules, pricing, and status.
• Maintain supplier information, purchasing records, and procurement documents.
• Support supplier performance reviews by tracking delivery and quality metrics.
• Collaborate across functions to support procurement priorities and schedules.
• Communicate updates, constraints, material shortages, and impacts to stakeholders.
• Coordinate procurement activities to support production schedules.
• Assist with procurement process improvements and supplier relationship initiatives.
• Maintain procurement records and reports per procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of purchasing processes and supply chain performance.
