Job Summary

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Buyer to join our Supply Chain team. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and services to meet the company’s operational and production needs. This role involves evaluating suppliers, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely delivery while optimizing cost and quality.

This is a salary position located in the Elko, NV facility reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sourcing and Procurement:
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to meet company needs.
  • Obtain and analyze quotes to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
  • Place and manage purchase orders in accordance with company policies and requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Monitor vendor performance, resolve issues, and ensure adherence to agreements.
  • Conduct regular assessments to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Collaborate with inventory and production teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Monitor inventory usage and adjust purchasing strategies as needed.
  • Cost Control:
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to maximize value while meeting budgetary requirements.
  • Identify and implement cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure all purchases align with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with operations, production, and other departments to understand and fulfill procurement needs.
  • Assist in forecasting demand based on production schedules and sales data.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management principles.
  • Proficiency in purchasing software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Knowledge of industry‑specific regulations and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is a plus.
  • Experience in construction, mining, and/or manufacturing.
