Job summary

Saulsbury Industries in Odessa, TX is seeking a full-time, in-person Procurement Specialist to actively participate in buying commodity materials for Saulsbury projects. You will identify suppliers, solicit bids, issue purchasing orders, and support project managers to meet field needs.

Responsibilities include supplier negotiations, evaluating and onboarding vendors, coordinating with technical teams on specs, and tracking KPIs to measure procurement performance.

Qualifications

• 1+ years purchasing/Office Admin experience for oil, gas, refining, or petrochemical industries.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal relations and ethical, team-player mindset.
• Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously in changing priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the efforts of Expeditors and Project Managers to ensure that material is delivered on schedule according to the construction field need dates.
• Contribute to the formation, negotiation and execution of agreements and partnerships for materials with supply chain vendors as directed.
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and establish them within the system once approved.
• Interface with technical support personnel on material and equipment specifications.
• Provide data and support for the implementation and monitoring of KPIs to measure procurement performance.
• Monitor trends in supplier and market movements and inform management of events affecting supply, price, and delivery.
• Build and develop relationships with key suppliers and vendors.

Responsibilities/Competencies

Requirements

• 1+ years purchasing/ Office Admin experience with all types of commodities and equipment for the oil and gas, refining, and/or petrochemical industries
• Local candidates preferred, no relocation offered
• Construction related experience highly preferred
• Experience with “best practices” in purchasing
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good interpersonal relations skills
• Professional, ethical, team player willing to grow with Company
• Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously and work in an environment or changing priorities
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
