The DOT Truck Drivers will transport heavy equipment (forklifts, boom lifts, dozers, blades, and excavators) to and from locations, in and around major areas of oil and gas industry facilities.


Responsibilities/Competencies


  • Transport equipment or material to customer locations using a variety of different trailers. (Floats, step decks, lowboys, van trailer, etc.).

  • Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and fellow employees.

  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.

  • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.

  • Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.

  • Maintaining paperwork is a must.

  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as Saulsbury’s policies and procedures.

  • Collect and verify delivery instructions.

  • Report defects, accidents, and violations.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements


  • Proven work experience as a truck driver.

  • Hands on experience with heavy equipment for loading and unloading. procedures.

  • Capable of driving long hours (60-70 hrs. weekly), the majority of driving is performed locally.

  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.

  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.).

  • Valid Class A CDL license.

  • Heavy haul experience is preferred.

  • 4 years of experience.

  • Must meet all DOT requirements.


Safety Requirements


  • On a continual basis, promotes an awareness of environmental, health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment and ensures compliance with all accompany policies

  • Ability to pass drug test as mandated by the Saulsbury Industries and Department of Transportation anti-drug program.

  • Must attend and successfully complete Saulsbury Industries safety training education.

  • Attends safety meetings and specialty training as directed by management.

  • Attends various training classes as may be assigned by management.

  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

  • Ability to take needed safety precautions in performing the work.

  • Ability to see things clearly that are beyond arm’s reach. (Far visual acuity)

  • Ability to see small detail.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to reach below knees while standing.

  • Ability to stoop or kneel.

  • Ability to work at heights.
