Job summary

Coreshell Technologies is seeking a Buyer responsible for end-to-end purchasing of direct materials, components, equipment, and supplies. You will process purchase requests, maintain procurement records, support vendor onboarding, and manage logistics, PO issuance, and vendor management to keep R&D and production on track.

The role requires 5–7 years in procurement, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of buyer/procurement experience in manufacturing or hard-tech environments.
• Proven ability to negotiate cost, terms and lead times with measurable savings.
• Experience sourcing components, consumables, or capital equipment for manufacturing environments.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end purchasing for assigned portfolio, from requisition to delivery.
• Issue, track, and expedite purchase orders; resolve delays before impacting activities.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and contracts for favorable terms.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities via sourcing changes or design/spec adjustments.

Coreshell's metallurgical Silicon anode technology delivers high capacity, fast-charging, and superior safety. Our low-cost liquid-phase nano-coating addresses critical electrode-surface degradation issues and enables batteries with a Silicon-dominant anode that have higher energy density, superior intrinsic thermal safety, and significantly lower cost/kWh compared to current LIBs. Our Si anode material is lower than the cost of graphite and 100% domestically sourced. Position: Coreshell is seeking a Buyer who will be responsible for the end-to-end purchasing of direct materials, components, equipment, office and facilities supplies, and software. This person will process purchase requests, maintain accurate procurement records, support vendor onboarding and basic sourcing activities, and help ensure expenses stay organized and compliant as the company grows. This individual will be responsible for a variety of procurement and operational execution activities from logistics coordination, managing purchase orders, and vendor management.

Core Responsibilities:

• Own end-to-end purchasing for an assigned portfolio of components, consumables, and capital equipment, from requisition through delivery.
• Issue, track, and expedite purchase orders and proactively resolving delays before they impact R&D and production activities
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable, sustainable terms for Coreshell.
• Monitor supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness) and drive corrective action plans when performance slips.
• Identify and execute cost-reduction opportunities through negotiation, alternate sourcing, dual-sourcing, or specification changes.
• Track and mitigate supply chain risk (single-source exposure, allocation, geopolitical/tariff exposure) and escalat[e] issues early.
• Help establish and maintain scalable purchasing processes, controls, and documentation that promote spend discipline, procurement best practices, and audit readiness.
• Ensure purchasing activity complies with Coreshell's procurement policies, approval thresholds, and internal controls.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5-7 years of experience as a buyer, procurement specialist, or supply chain analyst in a manufacturing, hardware, or hard-tech environment.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating with suppliers on cost, terms, and lead time, with a track record of measurable savings.
• Familiarity with sourcing components, consumables, or capital equipment for a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills, with the ability to manage a large, dynamic purchase order load.
• Clear, confident written and verbal communication, including comfort negotiating directly with suppliers.

Benefits & Location: San Leandro, CA. Full-time, onsite. Salary range of $90,000-150,000. with stock incentives . Dental, vision, healthcare and 401(k) benefits are included. Applications will be screened as received.
