Job summary

Skyway Precision is seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to support procurement operations across all Skyway facilities. This role handles purchasing, RFQ management for new and existing business, and maintaining supplier records to ensure uninterrupted operations.

You will create, issue, and maintain POs, coordinate RFQs, analyze quotes, and collaborate with Manufacturing, Production Control, and Accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Strong organizational, recordkeeping, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of computer operations and business systems.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders (POs) for goods and services across Skyway facilities.
• Establish, maintain, and track annual blanket purchase orders.
• Coordinate and manage the RFQ process for new and existing products.
• Distribute RFQs to suppliers and collect vendor quotations.
• Analyze supplier quotes and compile pricing data into RFQ cost comparison spreadsheets.
• Generate weekly orders with tool crib for tooling and MRO supplies.
• Enter and maintain foundry quarterly metal pricing adjustments.
• Manage part and vendor master data in company databases.
• Coordinate supplier pickups, deliveries, and on-site services with manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate with Accounting to resolve supplier invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain purchasing records and documentation; follow safety policies and ISO/QMS procedures.
• Support ISO 14001 and IATF/TS 16949 continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.

This role is responsible for purchasing goods and services, managing the Request for Quote (RFQ) process for both new and existing business, maintaining supplier and purchasing records, and collaborating with Manufacturing, Production Control, Accounting, and suppliers to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders (POs) for goods and services used across all Skyway facilities.
• Establish, maintain, and track annual blanket purchase orders.
• Coordinate and manage the RFQ process for new and existing products.
• Distribute RFQs to suppliers and collect vendor quotations.
• Analyze supplier quotes and compile pricing data into RFQ cost comparison spreadsheets.
• Partner with tool crib personnel to generate weekly orders for:
  • Perishable tooling
  • Non-perishable tooling
  • MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) supplies
• Enter and maintain foundry quarterly metal market pricing adjustments.
• Manage part and vendor master data within company databases.
• Coordinate supplier pickups, deliveries, and on-site services with manufacturing operations.
• Work closely with the Accounting Department to troubleshoot and resolve supplier invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Support compliance with Skyway Precision's Quality Policies and Procedures.
• Support ISO 14001 and IATF/TS 16949 continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly:
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Outlook
• Strong organizational, recordkeeping, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of computer operations and business systems.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred

• Associate Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
• Experience with purchasing, procurement, supplier management, or RFQ administration.
• Experience working with ERP or purchasing software systems.
