Skyway Precision is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead all quality activities across manufacturing operations and business processes. The role ensures compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and customer requirements while driving continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has automotive/mfg quality systems experience, strong problem-solving skills, and proven leadership to mentor teams and collaborate with suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 14001, Core Quality Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
  • Experience interacting with customers and suppliers regarding quality issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and standards.
  • Support internal and external audits and resolve findings.
  • Monitor process capability and quality metrics; drive improvements.
  • Lead customer quality management and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate PPAP activities for new/existing products.
  • Manage GR&R, calibration, and measurement systems.
  • Lead Quality Department personnel and train staff.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve processes and product quality.

Job description

Skyway Precision is seeking an experienced and results-driven Quality Manager to lead and oversee all quality-related activities supporting manufacturing operations and business processes. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, customer-specific requirements, and internal quality standards while driving continuous improvement throughout the organization.

The Quality Manager will play a critical role in maintaining customer satisfaction by ensuring that all products and services consistently meet or exceed customer specifications. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience in automotive manufacturing, quality systems management, problem-solving methodologies, and team development.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Systems & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, customer-specific requirements, and Skyway Precision quality policies and procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and standards.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Monitor quality system effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Process & Product Quality
  • Monitor process capability for key product and process characteristics and report performance metrics to management.
  • Review manufacturing processes to ensure capability in meeting customer quality requirements.
  • Monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) data and communicate findings to management.
  • Ensure quality spills are effectively contained, and clean points are established and communicated internally and externally.
Customer Quality Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality-related issues.
  • Ensure customer complaints, rejections, and quality concerns are effectively communicated throughout the organization.
  • Lead customer corrective action activities and ensure timely submission of all required documentation.
  • Verify corrective actions are implemented, effective, and closed within customer and internal timelines.
  • Provide technical support to customers when required to ensure product acceptance and satisfaction.
PPAP & Supplier Quality Support
  • Coordinate PPAP activities for new and existing products and ensure timely completion of submissions.
  • Support supplier quality initiatives and collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality requirements and documentation standards.
  • Assist in resolving supplier quality concerns and implementing corrective actions.
Measurement Systems & Calibration
  • Coordinate Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) studies utilizing Quality and Manufacturing personnel.
  • Ensure calibration systems are maintained, current, and properly documented.
  • Verify measurement equipment is suitable, accurate, and compliant with customer requirements.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Quality Department personnel.
  • Train employees on quality standards, procedures, and job responsibilities.
  • Evaluate and assess team members' competency and effectiveness in performing assigned duties.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and other departments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to improve processes and product quality.
  • Support root cause analysis, problem-solving initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and customer satisfaction throughout the organization.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • IATF 16949
    • ISO 14001
    • Core Quality Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC)
    • Root Cause Analysis methodologies
    • Corrective Action processes (8D, 5 Why, etc.)
  • Experience interacting directly with customers and suppliers regarding quality issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in automotive or precision manufacturing environments.
  • Quality certifications such as CQE, CQA, or related certifications.
  • Experience leading internal and external quality audits.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and process capability studies.
