Job description

This is a temporary, hourly position employed directly by Benshaw. The role is not eligible for company benefits, including medical coverage, PTO, or other standard full-time benefits. While there may be an opportunity for conversion to a regular full-time, benefits-eligible position based on business needs and individual performance, such conversion is not guaranteed.

Position Overview

The Buyer supports the Supply Chain team in the procurement of materials, parts, and services to ensure timely delivery at the right quality and cost.

Position Location

On-site, Benshaw, 615 Alpha Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15238
Hours: Monday through Friday, 40 hours

Job Responsibilities

• Issue and manage purchase orders for assigned commodities in accordance with production schedules and inventory requirements
• Communicate with suppliers on order status, delivery dates, and any supply issues or discrepancies
• Monitor open purchase orders and follow up to ensure on-time delivery
• Support supplier data entry and maintenance in IFS ERP system
• Assist in reviewing RFQ packages and gathering competitive quotes from approved suppliers
• Work collaboratively with internal teams including Planning, Engineering, and Receiving to resolve supply issues
• Help identify alternate suppliers or components when lead times are at risk
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ year of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or a related administrative role preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
