Job summary

Benshaw is seeking a Shipping Clerk to manage LTL shipments from our Pittsburgh, PA facility. You will process domestic LTL shipments daily, gather weights and order details, and coordinate with production to ensure product availability for shipment.

This on-site role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and use shipping software and PPE in a manufacturing environment. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

  • Process Domestic LTL Shipments daily
  • Gather weights dimensions sales orders and any product information needed to complete LTL shipments for products wrapped and ready for shipment in shipping lanes.
  • Utilize Benshaw Backlog to investigate and compile list of products available for shipment
  • Monitor IFS Shipping Tile for daily shipments and add ons, as well as reviewing shipping lanes for potential shipments.
  • Communicate with Production on any products that should be available for shipment according to Backlog and IFS Tile
  • Take pictures of all product shipping LTL and upload into daily file
  • Scan all Delivery slips and BOL(s) into system, and then file paper copies.
  • Send Daily Delivery receipt to daily shipment tracker email list.
  • Interact with Customer logistics for customer routed shipments.
  • Export IFS Complete Shipments Available Tile at end of Day for open orders not shipped and supply reason for missed shipment(s)
  • If all tasks are completed, or at the request of management, support it other areas.
  • These responsibilities serve as a guideline of work to be completed, further activities may be assigned or requested at management discretion.

Job description

Shipping Clerk: LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) Location: 615 Alpha Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15238 Hours: Monday- Friday 8am-5:30pm (weekend work and overtime as needed)

Physical Requirements:
  • This position requires the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods, up to 8 or more hours per shift, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to safely lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and repetitive use of the hands and arms to perform job duties.
  • Must be able to use hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing equipment safely and effectively.
  • Requires sufficient visual acuity to inspect parts, read work instructions, and perform quality checks.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to noise, moving machinery, varying temperatures, and other industrial conditions while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
