Oxnard School District is seeking a Buyer to support procurement of goods, services and equipment for the district. The role involves bid development, vendor coordination, and processing purchase orders to ensure timely delivery for 245 work days per year.
Qualified candidates will have four years of purchasing experience (including at least one year in a lead role) and education in purchasing or related fields. A valid California driver’s license is preferred.
1 - 8 hour Buyer position 245 work days per year
This eligibility list will be valid for one year and will be used to fill any future vacancies during the time this list is active.
To perform a variety of complex, technical activities in the procurement and purchasing of goods, materials, supplies, services, and equipment; perform the more complex and technical functions of the buying process; prepare and evaluate bids; perform related processing and record keeping functions; perform other related technical and clerical duties as required.
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: Four years of responsible technical experience involving purchasing activities, including the coordination and buying of specific commodities, preferably with a public agency, including one year of lead responsibility.
Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by college level course work in purchasing, accounting, business administration or a closely related field.
Valid California Driver's License
This is a Dual Certification recruitment: Candidates who attain a passing score on each examination part will be placed in rank order on an eligibility list after promotional credits are added to the composite test scores of promotional candidates. These examinations are open to permanent employees and the public.
Requests for reasonable accommodations for the testing process must be made no less than three (3) days prior to the examination. Requests must be signed by your medical doctor, school psychologist, or learning consultant as appropriate and must be on provider letterhead and contain an actual signature.
