Job summary

HellermannTyton North America in Milwaukee, WI seeks a Buyer under the Purchasing Supervisor to source quality, cost-effective materials and services. This role improves inventory levels, reduces stockouts, and controls purchase price variances while ensuring on-time delivery.

You will perform MRP purchasing, evaluate vendors, negotiate costs, and manage purchase orders. A valid driver’s license and 2+ years in buying are required; an Associate or Bachelor’s in Materials Management is preferred,

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in buying function.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and insurance.
• Experience with MRP buying preferred.
• Proficient with PC and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRP purchasing.
• Use target inventory reports to determine order quantities.
• Oversee and expedite purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery.
• Evaluate vendors and negotiate costs.
• Control purchase price variance and inventory levels.
• Review past-due orders and coordinate requests for quotes.
• Assist in maintaining ISO certifications and required documentation.
• Continuously improve to reduce vendor base.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Purchasing Supervisor, the Buyer is responsible for purchasing quality and cost-effective products and services. This position improves and controls inventory levels, customer service stockouts, purchase price variances, inventory turns, and systems and processes currently in place to ensure on-time delivery. This will be achieved by maintaining HellermannTyton's IATF16949/ISO9001 Quality and ISO14001 EMS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation.

Essential Functions

• Perform MRP purchasing.
• Use target inventory reports to assist in determining order quantities.
• Buying limit of approval $5000
• Evaluate vendors
• Negotiate costs
• Control purchase price variance.
• Control inventory levels.
• Oversee and expedite purchase orders to achieve on-time delivery.
• Review past-due orders.
• Coordinate requests for quotes.
• Process manual requisitions.
• Continuous improvement to explore reducing vendor base.
• Assist in maintaining HellermannTyton's TS16949/ISO14001 certification by supporting corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation.

Other Functions

• Train and assist as needed.
• Obtain MSDS sheets.
• Other duties may be assigned.

What You'll Bring
