Job summary

HellermannTyton is seeking a Buyer to support purchasing quality and cost-effective products, manage inventory, reduce stockouts, and improve processes while maintaining ISO certifications.

You will work under the Purchasing Supervisor, handle vendor negotiations, expedite orders, and monitor pricing variances, with a focus on on-time delivery and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Materials Management or equivalent preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in buying function required.
• Previous MRP buying preferred.
• PC knowledge.
• CPM certification preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and adequate insurance.

• Use target inventory reports to assist in determining order quantities.
• Buying limit of approval $5000.
• Evaluate vendors.
• Negotiate costs.
• Control purchase price variance.
• Control inventory levels.

• Coordinate requests for quotes.
• Process manual requisitions.
• Continuous improvement to explore reducing vendor base.
• Assist in maintaining TS16949/ISO14001 certification by supporting policies and documentation.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Purchasing Supervisor, the Buyer is responsible for purchasing quality and cost-effective products and services. This position improves and controls inventory levels, customer service stockouts, purchase price variances, inventory turns, and systems and processes currently in place to ensure on-time delivery. This will be achieved by maintaining HellermannTyton's IATF16949/ISO9001 Quality and ISO14001 EMS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation.

Essential Functions
