Job description

Job Description:

This position is responsible for purchasing materials for production use and ensuring continuity and quality of supplies.

Office located in Houston, not remote, hybrid; expected in office during workday.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and evaluate vendor performance.
  2. Set up new vendors by working with the Legal and Finance departments.
  3. Prepare and place purchase orders.
  4. Verify timely receipt of items and resolve receiving errors and discrepancies with suppliers.
  5. Provide recovery plans for inventory shortages, overages, and other issues.
  6. Work with internal departments and suppliers to coordinate RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) and rework.
  7. Assist with ECN (Engineering Change Notification) implementation.
  8. Work with the NPI (New Product Introduction) team to provide necessary supply chain support.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • SAP/Oracle knowledge preferred.
  • Proven ability to function independently and multitask.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain required.
  • 0-2 years of purchasing or commodity management experience required.
  • Contract manufacturing experience is a plus.
