Job summary

Procom is seeking a self-motivated Buyer for a permanent, onsite role at our MT Comfort facility in Greenfield, IN. You will manage material flow, analyze requisitions, and onboard suppliers to ensure uninterrupted production and inventory targets.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years as a planner/buyer, experience with MRP/ERP, and knowledge of lean manufacturing. Strong supplier coordination and proactive shortage management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of planner/buyer manufacturing experience.
• Certification in production and inventory management preferred.
• Knowledge of industry-related supply base and supplier scheduling.
• Experience with inventory management, MRP, and lean manufacturing processes.
• Computer proficiency with ERP and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Receive and analyze requisitions to determine quantity, specifications, and delivery requirements.
• Select suppliers from the approved list to fulfill scheduled plant deliveries.
• Maintain ABC classification for PFEP planning inputs.
• Conduct vendor onboarding, training, and site audits to improve processes.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels and safety stock.
• Coordinate with QA to resolve supplier quality issues.
• Expedite deliveries to meet critical requirements.
• Work with planning to resolve delivery issues when parts are delayed.
• Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues as needed.
• Resolve invoicing discrepancies with suppliers and accounting.

Buyer:On behalf of our manufacturing client, Procom is searching for a Buyer for a permanent role. This position is onsite at our client’s Greenfield, Indiana office.Buyer - Job Description:We are seeking a self-motivated, results-driven team player to fill the Buyer position at our Mt. Comfort Facility in Greenfield, IN. The Material Buyer is an active team member in planning and scheduling the delivery of material from suppliers. This tactical position is responsible for monitoring the flows of buy items, guaranteeing availability of components to avoid material shortages and production downtime, as well as managing inventory levels to meet our customer service and inventory targets.Buyer - Responsibilities:• Receive and analyze requisitions to determine quantity, specifications, and delivery requirements.• Recommend and select suppliers from the approved supplier list to fulfill scheduled plant deliveries.• Ensure up-to-date ABC classification is maintained for planning and other key inputs into the PFEP process.• Conduct vendor onboarding activities, training, and periodic site visits/audits to implement the process and drive continuous improvement.• Ensure optimal inventory levels and safety stock are maintained for their parts.• Coordinate with Quality Assurance to resolve quality issues with suppliers.• Maintain proactive shortage identification and management, helping flag root causes & corrective actions.• Expedite deliveries to meet and exceed scheduled critical requirements.• Coordinate with production planners for solutions when parts cannot be delivered as promised.• Maintain and continuously evaluate supplier performance and escalate when issues occur.• Resolve invoicing discrepancies with suppliers and accounting.Buyer - Mandatory Skills:• Bachelor’s Degree preferred• Minimum 2 years of planner/buyer manufacturing experience• Certification in production and inventory management preferred• Considerable knowledge of industry-related supply base• Skilled in production and supplier scheduling• Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP, and lean manufacturing processes• Computer proficient with ERP and Microsoft Office applicationsBuyer – Nice-to-Have Skills:• Experience with metals, particularly aluminum and special finishes• Experience with DFO/Dynamics 365• Understanding of Kanban and JIT systems• Experience with visual management systems• Strong customer service orientationBuyer – Assignment Length:This is a permanent position.Buyer - Start Date:ASAP.Buyer - Assignment Location:Greenfield, Indiana, onsite 5 days/week.
