Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Eggertsville, NY is seeking a Meat Cutter to join our meat department team. You will cut, grind, wrap, and label fresh meats, assist members, and ensure accurate inventory and displays.

The role requires prior meat cutting experience and the ability to operate wrapping machines; you will maintain sanitation, follow club policies, and uphold GOLD standards to deliver great member service.

Qualifications

• Completion of a training program or apprenticeship is required.
• Previous meat cutting experience is required.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Engages and provides assistance to Members by making recommendations regarding meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Prepares special cuts of meat ordered by Members.
• Cuts, grinds, and processes fresh meats to company standards.
• Weighs, packages, wraps, and labels meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Rotates meats and ensures appropriate inventory levels.
• Maintains sanitation and safety in the meat department.
• Receives and unpacks meat, poultry, seafood, and cheeses.
