Job summary

Economy Wholesale Grocers is seeking a motivated Meat Cutter at our Zaragoza Store in El Paso, TX. The role involves slicing, trimming, and preparing a variety of meats for display and sale, with emphasis on freshness and accurate pricing.

You will ensure proper rotation and temperature control, handle display prep, and assist customers with knowledge of cuts. Must have meat-market experience and a Food Handler’s Certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 5 years meat market experience.
• Experience handling bandsaw, slicer, and table cutting.
• Food Handler’s Certification required.
• Willingness to work in changing priorities; bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, trims, bones, ties, and grinds meats for cooking form.
• Prepares special cuts of meat ordered by customers.
• Shapes, laces, and ties roasts using boning knife, skewer, and twine.
• Wraps, weighs, labels, and prices cuts of meat.
• Displays meat cuts to attract shoppers and maintains proper temperatures.
