Job summary

El Rincon Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar is hiring a guest-focused server to greet guests, deliver chips and drinks, and clear and reset tables between courses. Training is provided, and there is emphasis on supporting team members during peak periods and large parties.

Applicants should be able to lift and stand for extended periods, and have basic language skills to communicate with guests. This on-site role supports smooth guest flow and friendly service.

Qualifications

• No prior restaurant experience required.
• Working knowledge of the predominant language(s) of our guests.
• Able to lift, reach, bend and stoop.
• Able to stand for long periods (up to 5 hours).

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly as they are seated and deliver chips, salsa and water.
• Remove used tableware between courses and provide next courseware.
• Clear tables after guests and reset surfaces for new arrivals.
• Assist server with food delivery during peak periods and large parties.
• Communicate guest requests to servers and hoststaff as needed.
• Maintain clean service areas and restrooms with regular checks.
• Be flexible to fill in as needed to keep restaurant operations smooth.

Reports to: Restaurant Manager

Summary of Position

Serve guest chips and salsa upon their arrival, and provide refills as needed. Remove used tableware between courses; clear and reset tables after guests leave.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift.
• Promptly greet guests as they are seated and bring chips, salsa and water to table.
• Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course.
• Clear tables after guests.
• Take soiled tableware to dishroom and unload, sort and stack silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in designated areas in the soiled dish drop off area.
• Between seatings promptly clean table tops, chairs and booths. Check floor and clean as required. Reset and arrange tabletop.
• Inspect assigned restroom every 30 minutes and clean as needed.
• Respond appropriately to guest requests. Communicate guest requests to server as needed.
• Communicate with server and hostess to assure efficient seating, table utilization and customer service.
• Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods.
• Thank guests as they are leaving
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
