Job summary

Palms Casino Resort in the United States seeks a dedicated Busperson to maintain dining areas, assist servers, and ensure guest satisfaction. The role requires strict adherence to health and sanitation standards and teamwork with servers, hostesses, and management.

You will assist with table settings, cleaning, and restocking, while upholding Palms’ commitment to guest experience and safety. Weekend and holiday shifts are possible.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Must obtain a TAM card.
• Must obtain a Food Handlers Card.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• May obtain a gaming card.
• One year of experience in a restaurant as a Bus or Food Runner.
• Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills.
• Knowledge of health, safety and sanitation regulations.
• Knowledge of hotel services, features, local attractions and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.

Responsibilities

• Polish flatware and set up tables with appropriate silverware, glassware, linens, condiments and napkins.
• Clear, clean and sanitize tables and reset with fresh linens, ashtrays, votive candles and glassware.
• Remove dirty dishes and linens; transport to kitchen and dispose of trash properly.
• Coordinate table availability and communicate with servers, hostesses and management to keep tables turning.
• Serve water, coffee and soft drinks and refill as needed.
• Ensure dining room floors are clean and free of debris.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Job description

The primary responsibility of the Busperson is to maintain the entire restaurant, including the dining room, storerooms, food pick up area, and beverage station according to established cleanliness and stock standards.

Core Job Responsibilities

• Work with servers to ensure proper guest service Polish flatware, set up tables with appropriate silverware, glassware, linen, condiments, accessories and fold napkins.
• Clear, clean, and sanitize booth/chair cushions and tables completely, and reset with clean linens, ashtrays, votive candles, glassware, and any additional tabletop items needed
• Remove dirty dishes, debris, and linens from table and bring to the kitchen for proper washing and disposing of trash in designated receptacles
• Coordinate table availability and constantly communicates with Server, Hostess, and Management to ensure tables are turned efficiently
• Serve water, coffee, and soft drinks, refilling when needed
• Ensure that dining room floors are clean and free of debris
• Perform other job-related duties as requested

Physical Demands

Work is performed in a hotel/resort setting. Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality. May be exposed to smoke The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Constant contact with executives, department management, employees, and guests. Prolonged sitting or standing and mobility. Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions Lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 75 pounds occasionally Eye/hand coordination. Use of standard office equipment. Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols May be required to work evening, weekends, and holiday shifts.
