At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

Applicants must currently be authorized to work for any employer in the United States, now and in the future, on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate to work on site 4 days per week in one of the specified locations.

Workplace Services Business Unit (BU) Risk provides first line risk management support to the four business units in Workplace Services (WS): Designated Brokerage Services, Retirement Business Services, Retirement Plan Services, and Stock Plan Services.

Reporting to the Senior BU Risk Manager, this individual contributor Manager will play a key role in supporting fraud investigations on behalf of WS. BU Risk investigates suspected incidents of fraud and pursues recovery efforts of unauthorized activity in client accounts. You will also help identify areas for process improvement to limit risk to the firm and improve client experience.

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to, supporting the following program activities:
  • Conduct high-profile, sophisticated fraud investigations, making consistent, well-reasoned decisions on risk and fraud issues.
  • Manage a portfolio of cases in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing casework with additional responsibilities.
  • Communicate regularly with participants, clients, consultants, and key stakeholders, providing updates at the appropriate level of detail to enable action.
  • Partner with key business partners to lead or support BU Risk initiatives and risk governance programs for Workplace Services.
  • Provide consultation and analytical support to identify process and control weaknesses, develop solutions, and monitor implementation to ensure flawless client service and regulatory compliance.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with a proactive approach, appropriate sense of urgency, and ability to anticipate and manage project issues and obstacles.
  • Effective interpersonal, influencing, and facilitation skills, with strong verbal and written communication, including experience presenting to business partners and leadership.
  • Exceptional client focus, with the ability to quickly build trust and confidence and drive timely, responsive resolution of client inquiries related to assigned casework.
  • Strong team orientation and ability to collaborate effectively using technical and non-technical resources.
Preferred Qualifications
