We are seeking a driven and commercially minded Business Unit Manager to lead and grow a strategic business segment. This role offers full responsibility for the business unit's financial performance, operational success, and long-term growth strategy. The ideal candidate will combine strong business acumen with leadership capabilities to drive revenue growth, optimize profitability, and develop high-performing teams.

As the leader of the business unit, you will collaborate across Sales, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to execute strategic initiatives, improve performance, and expand market opportunities. Key Responsibilities
Business & Financial Leadership
  • Manage the overall profit and loss performance of the business unit.
  • Develop and execute annual operating plans and long-term growth strategies.
  • Drive achievement of revenue, bookings, margin, and EBITDA objectives.
  • Monitor business performance metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Growth & Market Development
  • Identify new revenue opportunities and expand existing customer relationships.
  • Develop strategies to increase market share and improve profitability.
  • Evaluate market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to support growth initiatives.
  • Establish pricing strategies and business cases that maximize value and return.
Customer Engagement
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
  • Lead contract negotiations and support strategic account development activities.
  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction through high-quality execution and responsiveness.
Operational Leadership
  • Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to support business objectives.
  • Drive operational efficiency, cost reduction initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Resolve business challenges through collaboration and effective resource allocation.
  • Ensure programs and projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a cross-functional team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and performance excellence.
  • Provide coaching and support to help employees achieve organizational and professional goals.
  • Encourage innovation and continuous improvement throughout the business unit.
Executive Visibility
  • Present business performance, growth initiatives, and strategic plans to senior leadership.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to support company-wide decision-making.
  • Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives as required.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • MBA or advanced business degree preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience within manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, defense, or related industries.
  • Experience in a combination of operations, engineering, sales, finance, or business management functions.
  • Previous responsibility for financial performance, budgets, or P&L management preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base salary: $170,000 - $230,000
