Job summary

Sabre Systems, LLC is seeking a Business Unit Lead for the Digital Engineering Division in Maryland. You will provide strategic, operational, and programmatic leadership for initiatives, oversee business operations, customer engagement, workforce planning, and execution.

Requirements include 7+ years supporting DoW programs with 3+ years in a leadership role, strong communication with senior leaders, and an active DoW security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, business, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience supporting DoW programs, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
• Strong understanding of digital engineering concepts, data analytics, software development lifecycles, and modern digital tools used within DoD/NAVAIR.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between the Sabre Digital Engineering Division and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational requirements.
• Oversee business unit operations, including financial management, resource allocation, staffing, and performance tracking.
• Support planning and execution of digital engineering, data analytics, and modernization initiatives.
• Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions, ensuring projects meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.
• Identify growth opportunities by monitoring customer needs, emerging technologies, and evolving mission priorities.
• Develop and maintain workforce strategies to attract, develop, and retain talent in digital engineering, software development, and data-centric roles.
• Prepare and present briefings, status reports, and strategic updates to senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with Department of War (DoW) policies.
• Support proposal development, contract strategy, and business development activities as needed.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the business unit.

Responsibilities

The Business Unit Lead will provide strategic, operational, and programmatic leadership for initiatives supporting Sabre's Digital Engineering Division and portfolio of projects. This role is responsible for overseeing business operations, customer engagement, workforce planning, and execution of digital engineering. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership, familiarity with digital engineering concepts and technologies, and the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder programs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, business, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience supporting DoW programs, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
• Strong understanding of digital engineering concepts, data analytics, software development lifecycles, and modern digital tools used within NAVAIR.
• Proven experience managing teams, budgets, schedules, and complex technical projects.
• Excellent communication and relationshipbuilding skills, with experience engaging senior military or civilian leadership.
• Active DoW security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a technical or business discipline.
• Experience supporting naval aviation, aircraft systems, or digital transformation initiatives.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.

Compensation Statement

At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows: $225,000.00 - $260,000.00
