Job summary

Covetrus is seeking a Business Unit Controller to oversee accounting, financial reporting, and controls for Covetrus North America’s largest business unit. The role focuses on revenue recognition, inventory, and complex areas such as software development and intercompany transactions, reporting to the North America Controller.

You will lead a controllership team, ensure GAAP compliance, and partner with operations and FP&A to drive financial performance and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CPA required; MBA is a plus.
• 8+ years of diverse financial experience.
• 3+ years in a hands-on management position.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and revenue recognition.
• Experience integrating an accounting function as part of a business combination.

Responsibilities

• Direct the revenue recognition, inventory control, general accounting, and compliance functions.
• Oversee monthly close and analytical review of results.
• Own key controls including record-to-report and order-to-cash.
• Provide guidance on financial goals and strategies to executives.
• Lead internal and external audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Mentor finance staff and develop direct reports.
