Job summary

El Camino College is seeking an IT Business Analyst to bridge users of the administrative information systems with technical resources. You will gather requirements, draft functional specs, and lead projects related to data conversion, validation criteria, and reporting needs.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with five years' experience in a major student information system, plus the ability to train staff and coordinate cross-functional efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus five years of experience with a major student information system.
• Experience in analyzing, trouble-shooting and researching software problems.
• Ability to lead projects and develop functional specifications with end users.

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective and efficient use of the District's administrative information system through validation procedures.
• Determine application requirements with end users and develop functional specifications.
• Assist end users in diagnosing and resolving problems with supported services.
• Coordinate training materials and use train-the-trainer approaches.
• Coordinate with end-users on analysis, specifications, testing, training and documentation for system enhancements.
• Support Colleague system to maintain reporting, data entry, queries, streams, and file creation/initialization.
• Maintain security and confidentiality of information per regulations.
