Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, QA Analyst, or similar role.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements and analyzing business processes.
  • Experience with enterprise applications and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience creating and executing test plans and UAT, documenting defects.
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP is a MUST.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Business Systems Analyst – UAT & Application Support to serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, end users, technology teams, software vendors, and implementation partners. This role is ideal for a business-focused technology professional who enjoys understanding how organizations operate, translating business needs into system requirements, and ensuring applications function as intended. The position will play an integral role in software upgrades, enhancements, integrations, implementations, testing, and ongoing application support. This is not a software development or programming position. Instead, the focus is on business process analysis, requirements gathering, quality assurance, user acceptance testing, and application support.

The Position Will Generally Be Divided Into
  • 40% Business Systems Analysis
  • 40% Software Testing & User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • 20% Business Application Support
Key Responsibilities
Business Systems Analysis
  • Partner with business users and stakeholders to understand operational processes, challenges, objectives, and technology needs.
  • Gather, document, validate, and maintain business and functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and project documentation.
  • Analyze business workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls, processes, and system utilization.
  • Develop process maps, workflow diagrams, business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
  • Facilitate requirements meetings, workshops, and cross-functional discussions to ensure business needs are clearly defined and validated.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable information for technical teams, vendors, and implementation partners.
Software Testing & UAT
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, test scripts, testing schedules, expected results, and requirements traceability.
  • Execute functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing for system upgrades, enhancements, integrations, and new implementations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate UAT with business stakeholders, document results, and obtain appropriate approvals and sign-off.
  • Identify, reproduce, document, and prioritize system defects based on severity and business impact.
  • Track issues through resolution, retesting, and final closure.
  • Validate system fixes, integrations, and data outcomes prior to production deployment.
  • Communicate unresolved defects, risks, limitations, and release-readiness concerns to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain consistent testing processes, templates, documentation, and supporting evidence.
Business Application Support
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for users, software vendors, and implementation partners regarding business application functionality and issues.
  • Investigate application problems, identify root causes when possible, document findings, and coordinate appropriate escalation.
  • Support enterprise applications utilized across areas such as operations, finance, customer service, supply chain, and administration.
  • Validate data integrity and business process outcomes following system changes, upgrades, integrations, and defect corrections.
  • Maintain user-facing system documentation and assist with training, communication, and adoption of new functionality.
Implementation & Process Improvement
  • Support system implementations and enhancements from initial requirements through testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
  • Assess the business impact, dependencies, risks, and change-management requirements associated with proposed system changes.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, vendors, and implementation partners to ensure solutions align with validated business requirements.
  • Communicate project status, testing progress, risks, dependencies, and outstanding decisions to key stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate project and system documentation while continuously improving processes and work practices.
  • Follow established information security, confidentiality, and company policies when handling sensitive business and system information.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Application Analyst, QA Analyst, or similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience gathering and documenting business requirements and analyzing business processes.
  • Experience supporting enterprise business applications and working with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Hands‑on experience creating and executing test plans and test cases, documenting defects, and coordinating UAT.
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP is a MUST.
