Job summary

CDW in Salt Lake City is seeking a Business Systems Analyst for a year-long hybrid on-site contract. This role acts as a liaison between business teams and Technology, ensuring ERP systems and enterprise processes are aligned, documented, and improved.

You will partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, and divisions to map current workflows, translate needs into functional requirements, support testing, migrations, and adoption, and keep documentation up to date.

This is a year long hybrid on site contract based out of Salt Lake City Utah.

Business Systems Analyst

Position Summary

The Business Systems Analyst serves as a liaison between business teams and Technology, helping ensure enterprise applications and business processes are aligned, documented, and continuously improved.

This role works closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, and divisional teams to understand current processes, identify gaps, define requirements, support application changes, and drive projects through testing, implementation, and adoption.

The successful candidate will be process-oriented, curious, and comfortable working directly with end users and business leaders to determine whether challenges are related to business processes, system configuration, training, data, or the need for new functionality.

Reporting Relationship

This role is a member of the Technology organization and initially reports to the Senior Vice President of Information Technology.

Location

This position may be performed remotely, although placement near or within an operating division is preferred. The organization maintains multiple domestic and international operating locations and supports a large-scale manufacturing and operational footprint.

Candidates must be comfortable working independently in a remote environment and collaborating with teams across multiple locations. Travel, primarily domestic, may be required based on business needs.

Business Process & Requirements

• Partner with business stakeholders to document current-state processes, requirements, pain points, and desired outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to improve, simplify, and standardize business processes across divisions.
• Translate business needs into clear functional requirements for ERP systems, enterprise applications, development teams, and vendors.
• Determine whether business challenges stem from process issues, system limitations, configuration needs, training gaps, data issues, or development requirements.
• Facilitate discussions between business and technical teams to ensure shared understanding of requirements, priorities, and decisions.

Application & Project Support

• Support ERP, LIMS, QMS, SaaS, and other enterprise application initiatives.
• Assist with system upgrades, migrations, implementations, integrations, and application improvement projects.
• Coordinate functional testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), issue tracking, and go-live readiness.
• Maintain application documentation, process maps, support procedures, and business ownership information.
• Partner with Enterprise Applications leadership to support application roadmaps, prioritization, and risk remediation.

Business Partnership & Adoption

• Build strong working relationships with divisional and functional teams.
• Develop a practical understanding of how business processes are performed, including within manufacturing and operational environments.
• Support user training, communications, and adoption of new processes and system capabilities.
• Help ensure new solutions are consistently adopted and deliver intended business outcomes.
• Provide ongoing support for process and application improvement opportunities identified by the business.
• Assist with validating reporting requirements, data definitions, and business rules.
• Identify process and data-quality issues affecting application performance or reporting accuracy.
• Support continuous improvement through process analysis, root-cause investigation, and measurement of outcomes.
• Maintain clear documentation of requirements, decisions, processes, and system changes.

Required Qualifications

• Experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, ERP Analyst, or similar role supporting business applications and process improvement.
• Strong understanding of business process analysis, requirements gathering, testing, and implementation.
• Experience working with ERP or other enterprise business systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Strong documentation, organization, problem-solving, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to complex, cross-functional initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within manufacturing, supply chain, quality, inventory, finance, or related operational environments.
• Experience with JD Edwards, Deacom, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, or comparable ERP platforms.
• Experience with LIMS, QMS, or other regulated business applications.
• Familiarity with SQL, reporting tools, integrations, or data analysis.
• Experience supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, migrations, or business-process standardization initiatives.
• Experience working across multiple locations, divisions, or business units.
