Affinity is looking for an experienced Business Systems Analyst to join our team!
The Business Systems Analyst supports and acts as a technical expert for business systems managed by Business Solutions. They perform at a high level of service complexity in support of system operations, performance, and usage. They gather business requirements and develop advanced solutions and specifications to resolve process issues, which may involve elements of testing and development. This role will interface with business, other application development teams within IT as well as various shared services organizations and infrastructure areas.
The Business Systems Analyst will join project teams with the goal of understanding the scope of the project, the goal, expectations and requirements. They will organize and coordinate a series of elicitation workshops to understand the technical requirements and system configurations and integrations needed.
The starting pay range for a new hire in this role is $70-$75k. The wage/salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several qualifying factors, including but not limited to: years of relevant experience, years of industry experience, education, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides expert technical support for systems by responding to inquiries, ensuring processes run smoothly, and working to continuously improve the end-user experience. Handles escalated and complex support issues, responding within established SLAs.
- Develop and implement modifications and enhancements. Serves as an analytics resource to wider organization or business units, offering expertise on systems and data output.
- Stay abreast of the current and future technology feature set relevant to Affinity, in addition to general industry IT trends, and provide recommendations for adoption.
- Perform data analysis at an advanced level, effectively communicating and directing analysis output. May handle special projects or direct the analysis efforts of the work group.
- Determine system requirements and communicate them using specifications, reports, project plans, or other forms of documentation. Determine and resolve complex factors that affect system processes. Ensures compliance through monitoring and analysis.
- Enable strategic insight into business systems through data and reports to senior management. Evaluate systems based on data analysis, user input, and extensive testing. Convey patterns, problems, and areas of improvement, and develop process enhancements based on results.
- Manages, monitors, and improves the application change control process.
- Acts as an IT liaison and expert resource to support the assigned business area with consultation and guidance. Works directly with management of the assigned business area to become educated in the business functions. Acts as the subject matter expert for the business area for the various data, functional and non-functional requirements.
- Coordinates information gathering for the various audits and exams by governing bodies (e.g. NCUA). Help with finding resolutions.
- Assist with upgrades and releases with a focus on managing UAT with the various business areas. Perform testing of systems and applications including the development of effective test plans, testing criteria and analysis of testing results. Coordinate testing efforts with departments or quality control individuals. Manages hot fixes, releases and system upgrades relating to the application
- Assist with documenting UAT test cases and coordinating testing with users.
- Work with the project teams to get updates on deliverables.
- Adhere to the project management approach, methodology (waterfall, agile, scrum, lean, hybrid, etc.) and toolset for the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of the project. Support, use and manage the project management tools and help to create project dashboards and charts as needed.
- Supports all project activities from start to finish as needed. Work closely with the Project Manager/Lead and the Project Team.
- Backs up the Project Coordinator as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or Business or Systems Analyst Certificate or 3 plus years of experience working in a credit union or experience relevant to working with DNA, Loan Director or other core systems managed by Business Solutions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in the applications managed by Business Solutions and proactively making recommendations for changes to improve efficiency and to maximize the technology.
- Experience in taking highly conceptual business needs, translating them into a solution that can be effectively implemented.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to operate in a collaborative environment
- Working knowledge of the Atlassian Suite, specifically Jira and Confluence, Smartsheet, JIRA, Salesforce, Microsoft Project etc.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), email and electronic calendar (Outlook), Zoom
- Experience with Microsoft Visio or Lucid Chart or similar flowcharting application
