Qualifications

  • Experience with the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence) and Smartsheet.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook and Zoom.
  • Experience with Visio or Lucidchart or similar flowchart tool.

Job description

Affinity FCU is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our team!

The Business Analyst is primarily responsible for processing, interpreting and documenting business processes. They will help to improve business efficiencies using their knowledge of both IT and business functions. They will assess how departments perform their tasks and identify areas that can be improved to increase efficiency and strengthen business processes. They will conduct research and analysis to help the Solutions Delivery Managers, the Business Systems Analyst and other IT areas come up with solutions to solve business problems, and they will help to introduce the solutions to the business areas, coordinate UAT and implementation.

The Business Analyst will join project teams in the discovery phase with the goal of understanding the scope of the project, the goal, expectations and requirements. They will organize and coordinate a series of requirements elicitation workshops with stakeholders, discussions with subject matter experts and vendors as needed. They will translate the business requirements into technical solutions that will improve the member experience, efficiency, effectiveness, reduce risk and support the business area.

The starting pay range for a new hire in this role is $70-$75k. The wage/salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several qualifying factors, including but not limited to: years of relevant experience, years of industry experience, education, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducts evaluation of end-to-end processes and accurately document business discovery sessions with internal stakeholders to assess their needs.
  • Create, review, and update current process documents as needed and obtain stakeholder sign-off.
  • Act as a point of contact, liaising between the Project Manager/Lead, team members, and vendors to ensure requirements are met.
  • Evaluate business requirements in the context of our overall system architecture, keeping in mind the end-to-end experience including the consumer and the back office.
  • Ensure all business requirements are documented.
  • Define and develop Epics, Stories, Acceptance Criteria and User Acceptance Test scripts and training material to execute the development and implementation of defined solutions.
  • Translate the business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Perform gap analysis between business requirements and the current state of the technical and functionality of the systems and the data. Develop overall solution design options and recommendations while considering the pros and cons.
  • Acts as an IT liaison and expert resource to support the assigned business area with consultation and guidance. Works directly with management of the assigned business area to become educated in the business functions. Acts as the subject matter expert for the business area for the various data, functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Coordinates information gathering for the various audits and exams by governing bodies (e.g. NCUA). Help with finding resolutions.
  • Assist with upgrades and releases with a focus on managing UAT with the various business areas. Perform testing of systems and applications including the development of effective test plans, testing criteria and analysis of testing results. Coordinate testing efforts with departments or quality control individuals.
  • Assist with documenting UAT test cases and coordinating testing with the users to ensure successful completion of all test cases.
  • Working with the project teams to get updates on deliverables.
  • Adhere to the project management approach, methodology (waterfall, agile, scrum, lean, hybrid, etc.) and toolset for the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of the project. Support, use and manage the project management tools and help to create project dashboards and charts as needed.
  • Supports all project activities from start to finish as needed. Work closely with the Project Manager/Lead and the Project Team.
  • Backs up the Project Coordinator, filling in for the PC as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or Business Analyst Certificate or 3 years of experience working in a credit union or bank or experience documenting and managing requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Working knowledge of the Atlassian Suite, specifically Jira and Confluence, Smartsheet, JIRA, Salesforce, Microsoft Project etc.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), email and electronic calendar (Outlook), Zoom.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio or Lucid Chart or similar flowcharting application.
