Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking a Facilities Coordinator to ensure seamless operation of commercial properties in Detroit. You will coordinate maintenance, vendor relationships, and tenant services to deliver safe, efficient environments and exceptional workplace experiences.

The role requires an Associate degree in Facilities Management (or related field) and hands-on knowledge of building systems, CMMS, and budgeting for services.

**Facilities Coordinator****What this job involves:**As a Facilities Coordinator at JLL, you will ensure the seamless operation and maintenance of commercial properties, creating exceptional workplace experiences that enhance productivity and wellbeing for building occupants and tenants. You'll serve as the central point of coordination for facilities management activities, managing everything from routine maintenance and vendor relationships to emergency response and tenant services across diverse property portfolios. We embrace more innovative ways of working and prioritize opportunities to strengthen and advance your career, providing you with exposure to cutting-edge building systems, sustainability initiatives, and workplace experience strategies that shape the future of commercial real estate.**What your day-to-day will look like:*** Coordinate preventive maintenance programs and repair activities across building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety equipment* Manage vendor relationships and service contracts, ensuring quality delivery, compliance with specifications, and cost-effective procurement of facilities services* Respond to tenant service requests and facility issues promptly, coordinating with appropriate teams to resolve problems and maintain high satisfaction levels* Conduct regular building inspections and maintain detailed records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and compliance documentation* Support space planning and move coordination activities, ensuring seamless transitions for new tenants and existing occupant relocations* Assist with emergency response procedures and coordinate with security, fire safety, and building management teams during critical incidents* Maintain inventory management systems for supplies, equipment, and spare parts while ensuring cost optimization and availability for operational needs* Prepare reports and documentation for property managers and clients, including maintenance summaries, vendor performance metrics, and budget tracking* Collaborate with sustainability initiatives including energy management programs, waste reduction efforts, and green building certification maintenance**Required qualifications:*** Associate degree in Facilities Management, Engineering Technology, or related field with minimum 2 years of commercial facilities or property management experience* Strong understanding of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety equipment with basic troubleshooting capabilities* Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting requirements* Excellent communication and customer service skills with ability to interact professionally with tenants, vendors, and internal stakeholders* Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations, building codes, and compliance requirements for commercial properties and workplace environments* Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with proven track record of managing competing priorities in fast-paced operational settings* Valid driver's license and ability to travel between multiple properties as required by portfolio assignments**Preferred qualifications:*** Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related technical field with focus on building operations and maintenance* 4+ years of progressive facilities management experience in commercial real estate with exposure to Class A office buildings or mixed-use properties* Professional certifications such as FMP (Facility Management Professional), CFM (Certified Facility Manager), or similar industry credentials* Experience with energy management systems, sustainability programs, and green building operations including LEED or ENERGY STAR certification processes* Knowledge of project management principles and experience coordinating tenant improvement projects, capital improvements, or major maintenance initiatives* Familiarity with IoT building technology, smart building systems, and data analytics platforms for facilities optimization and predictive maintenance* Previous experience with budget management, vendor negotiations, and cost control strategies in facilities management operations* Understanding of workplace experience trends and space utilization analytics to support modern workplace strategies and tenant satisfaction initiativesThis position does not provide visa sponsorship.
